Daily Work [29-3-13]

I hit some snags today, with regards to rigging up my trash compactor to complete a cycle, and as well, realized I'd have to make the front eject plate longer. This is a design flaw that I failed to spot earlier, and will have to go about figuring out a way to fix it... Gah.

On the bright side, it's completely UV'd, but those'll have to be laid out again to make up for the change I have to make on the front eject plate.

Trash Compactor Unwrapped

I unwrapped my trash compactor model today, going to go about laying out and getting some textures made now. Not too shabby for a rough design that didn't have much to it, and about a day spent on the whole model so far. [design/modeling/UVing]

Trash Compactor WIP

I have been enjoying and putting a lot of effort into my robot character, Beta-i7, and I thought that he needed a trash compactor to empty his scrap into, since he does work as a recycling bot.

Daily Thoughts [Passions]

I've realized today that my passion really lies in trying to make photo-realistic models, and just working on modeling interesting objects. Hard surface stuff, really. I'm really thinking about doing more of it in the coming future, I'll try and find some intricate things to model, maybe some props, and work on my hockey arena model.

I've gotta get a lot done with regards to my school work, though. I want to model an environment for my robot to wander around in, maybe a small section of junkyard, work on the inside of my bus, and get my character textured, and more controls added to her rig, as well as a few props.

I enjoy making inanimate objects, so for now I think I might make some pieces for my robot, maybe some aluminum, a little something to hold his trash, or like, hut or something.

Subsurface Scattering Study [20-3-13]

I'm still trying to understand subsurface scattering, but I feel I'm getting more of a grasp on it than I had in the first week we learned it.
